Welcome to Music Outback Foundation

We’re back!

When the global pandemic struck in 2020, it had an immediate impact on Music Outback’s work on remote communities.

Along with community leaders, we were justifiably worried about the impact an outbreak of COVID-19 would have, as remote communities are places where many vulnerable people live and places where healthcare is already under resourced.  So after consulting with communities and schools it quickly became apparent it was best to pause our programs until such time as it was safe to return.

The good news is that across the board most remote communities managed the pandemic very well, and as a result are now keen to renew our programs – especially in our “heartland” locations of Ti Tree and Neutral Junction schools in the NT.

So after three years of waiting we’re back visiting these communities, and if the funding is available hope to bring Mobfest back as well!

Watch this space for news of program developments for Music Outback Foundation and our partner communities, and meanwhile enjoy the songs, stories and videos that you’ll find as you explore this website.
